At IAPP Privacy. Security. Risk. 2025 in San Diego, Aruneesh co-led the half-day workshop "Conducting AI Impact Assessments" with Gopi Ramamoorthy (Head of Cybersecurity, AI Security, Privacy and GRC Engineering at Symmetry). The interactive session gave attendees a fast, practical path to starting and completing a reasonable AI impact assessment for companies and institutions.
Participants worked through the AI ecosystem — a generic AI system architecture, assessment methodologies, and the key elements of an impact assessment report — then applied them in group exercises on two real-world case studies: a small company with low-to-medium impact and a large company with high impact. Attendees left able to define scope for AI systems, identify the core elements of the report, and conduct an assessment end to end.
