The talk covered how the OWASP AI Bill of Materials project — launched in 2025 and now spanning 12+ contributors across 8+ organizations and nine workstreams — bridges existing SBOM standards (CycloneDX, SPDX) with AI-specific needs like model provenance, data lineage, and risk governance, and its path to becoming the global standard for AI transparency.
Earlier the same day he co-hosted the roundtable "Scaling OWASP's Impact: Strategy, Standards, and Sustainable Growth" — a strategic discussion with project leaders, board members, and contributors on standardizing project operations, cross-project collaboration, formal partnerships with bodies such as CSA, SANS, IEEE, NIST, and ENISA, and scalable funding and sponsorship models.
